Working on Actions in Performance: on dramaturgical practice and artistic methodologies
Weds 12th – Fri 14th April 2016
This was the second workshop addressed to students of DAS Theatre focusing on dramaturgy as ‘working on actions’. Drawing from the ideas developed in the book The Practice of Dramaturgy: Working on Actions in Performance (Valiz, 2016), participants were invited to think of, discuss and practice dramaturgy as a pluralized and catalytic operation that destabilizes, questions and ‘sets into motion’ artistic work. Our starting point was that dramaturgy conceived as ‘working on actions’ moves beyond the work of ‘the dramaturg’, as well as principles of sense-making and cohesion. Rather, it indicates a practice that is shared, politicized and speculative.
