Athens – April 2012 [pilot]

Choreo-graphy – a workshop for dramaturgy

Sunday 22nd April 2012, 19:00-20:30

Occupied Empros Theatre, Athens

Offered in the frame of the Re-act programme #3, organized by ‘Syndesmos Chorou’, a network of Greek-based dance companies

For this pilot workshop, Greece-based artists and theorists of dance and theatre were invited to investigate the relationship of writing to movement and to contemporary experimental stage creation, as well as the position and function of dramaturgy in such work. Texts, ideas, and task-based actions were suggested as starting points for an encounter that aimed to experiment with possible alternative understandings of the notion of choreo-graphy (coming from the Greek ‘khoreia’= dance and ‘graphein’=to write).
