We are three researchers whose areas of interest vary from theatre and performance-making to choreography, performance theory and philosophy.
Prior to this project, we have worked together as co-curators of the PSi Regional Research Cluster Encounters in Synchronous Time (Athens, November 2011), and co-editors of a special issue of the performing arts journal Maska, entitled ‘Syros – a bet on the potentiality of co-operation’ (forthcoming, spring 2015), resulting from a writing residency on the island of Syros, Greece, in July 2013.
In 2014 we initiated a series of annual international symposia titled The Young, which constitute platforms for critical voices that are in the early stages of their research. These events are a collaboration between MA programmes of Utrecht University, University of Groningen, ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices, University of Roehampton, Justus Liebig University of Giessen, University of Antwerp. Two symposia have so far taken place, Performance Philosophy: The Young in February 2014 at the University of Groningen (supported by a Performance Philosophy Interim Event award), and The Young: What Matters? in February 2015 at Utrecht University.
We also occasionally collaborate on each others’ artistic projects as dramaturges.
